1847
John Hornor, a hardware merchant in Philadelphia, becomes intrigued with life insurance, a novel idea at the time, and incorporates The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.
1969
Penn Mutual establishes HTK, then called Penn Mutual Equity Services, as a wholly-owned subsidiary and broker-dealer.
1994
Penn Mutual Equity Services changes its name to Hornor, Townsend & Kent. HTK is named for Penn Mutual’s founder, John Hornor; first general counsel, Henry C. Townsend; and first financial professional, Rodolphus Kent.
1999
HTK becomes a registered investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and expands our investment advisory services.
2019
HTK celebrates 50 years of financial services and ushers in a new era to continue to build upon our legacy of excellence.
